Share
Welcome to another peek behind the glass, a chance for me to share more details of my artistic process. In this installment, we’ll dive into an incredibly fun piece I’ve been working on for a client in Kentucky. Before we get into the creative details of this Pastafarian-themed design, if you’re not familiar, I urge you to get acquainted with the lore of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
In the Beginning: Sketching the Vision
Whether I’m creating a piece that will be a physical glass panel or digitally created cling, the process starts start with pencil and paper. These first images showcase the initial sketches that will ultimately make their way into this custom layout. As you can see, freehand drawings allow me to capture the essential characteristics and spirit of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and the supplicant. If you look closely, you’ll see how I was working out the gesture and position of the uplifted hands and the entertaining details on the colander headwear.
