Weathertop & Kingsfoil
The wild lands beyond the Shire are filled with places that feel suspended between memory and myth, and few are more haunting than Weathertop.
Long before it became a place of fear in The Lord of the Rings, Weathertop was once Amon Sûl, one of the great watchtowers of the ancient northern kingdoms. Even in ruin, it still carries the feeling of something important lingering against the passage of time: a lonely hill rising above the empty lands, crowned by broken stone and windswept silence.
When we began designing this newest addition to The Road Goes Ever On collection, we wanted to capture not just the appearance of Weathertop, but the feeling of it. The stillness before danger. The fading light at dusk. The sense that somewhere beyond the horizon, larger forces are moving through the world unseen.
At the center of the design is the distant light burning atop the hill.
For some readers, it may recall Gandalf standing against the Nazgûl in the night, flashes of lightning visible for miles across Eriador. For others, it may evoke the small campfire of the hobbits huddling against the dark, or the terrible and pivotal moment when Frodo is wounded by the Morgul Blade. Tolkien leaves room for imagination within his landscapes, and we wanted this piece to do the same. Rather than depicting a single literal scene, the design invites the viewer to bring their own memories of the story into the light.
Like the rest of our translucent window art, the piece changes throughout the day as sunlight passes through it. In the morning, the colors feel soft and quiet. By evening, the glowing summit of Weathertop begins to stand out more dramatically against the darkening sky, transforming an ordinary window into something atmospheric and alive.

To accompany the main design, we also created a new set of Kingsfoil Window Corners inspired by one of Tolkien’s most beloved lines:
“The hands of the king are the hands of a healer.”
I’ve always loved the quiet humanity contained within that passage. In a story filled with kings, battles, ancient evils, and world-changing events, Tolkien chooses to define true leadership not through power, but through healing.
Visually, the corners were designed with a naturalistic botanical style inspired by medieval illustration and Art Nouveau forms, allowing them to feel elegant and subtle whether displayed on their own or paired with larger pieces from the collection. Each corner contains part of the quote woven across the set, creating a fragmented banner that reveals itself as the pieces come together around the window.
One of our favorite aspects of these corner pieces is their versatility. They can frame Weathertop beautifully, adding a softer organic contrast to the stark ruins of the hill, but they also work wonderfully alongside earlier pieces in The Road Goes Ever On series, including Bag End, The Party Tree, and Rivendell. We love the idea that collectors can slowly build windowscapes over time, layering different locations, moods, and moments from Middle-earth throughout their homes.
This release also marks the debut of DynamiCling™ 2.0, a new generation of our translucent window art material. The updated material combines static cling properties with a non-adhesive microsuction surface that naturally settles flat against smooth surfaces, creating an even cleaner presentation while making installation easier than ever before. It also expands compatibility beyond traditional windows, allowing these pieces to be displayed on mirrors, acrylic, refrigerators, metal surfaces, monitors, and more.
At its heart, though, this release is really about atmosphere.
A distant light in the gathering dark.
A ruined hill beneath the evening sky.
The quiet promise of healing carried in a simple green plant.
These are the kinds of details that make Middle-earth feel real to so many of us, and we hope these new pieces allow a little more of that feeling to find its way into your home.
